After COVID-19 has really taken the Andover Trojans Week 5 twice, they finally have a game for Friday night ready to go.

Andover and Hutchinson have agreed to play on Friday night at Andover’s Trojan Stadium, with a 7 p.m. kick off on the schedule.

Andover’s original Week 5 game at Wichita Heights was canceled due to USD 259 originally canceling fall activities for the first nine weeks. Then, last week Campus had to cancel due to an outbreak, leaving the Trojans without a Week 5 once again.

Hutch’s Week 5 game has been in limbo for a week, ever since the Derby had announced they were contact tracing, which was first announced by the Derby High’s Panther Tale.

Derby waited until Friday, Sept. 25 to cancel their game against Salina South, leaving South without a game.

Hutch has contingency plans.

With their agreement with Andover when the announcement is official. They at least have a back up plan if they cannot travel to Derby.

The Salthawks are having one of their best seasons in recent memory as they are off to a 4-0 start.

Andover is fresh off a 16-7 loss to Goddard Eisenhower on Friday night, ending their 2-game winning streak.
