GODDARD, KANSAS—Andover Central wasted no time showing they deserved their new No. 1 moniker as they beat Goddard 85-39 on Friday night to open the second half of their season.

They blew past the Lady Lions to start the game, jumping out 8-0 by using the press and forcing Goddard into situations where they were turnover prone.

The lead reached 17-2 before Maycee James helped Goddard get their legs underneath them. However, it wouldn’t matter much as Brittany Harshaw scored 31 points and Bailey Wilborn hit seven threes to finish with 21 points.

In all, the Jaguars had eight different players score and five different players hit a three.

Andover Central shot 57.7 percent from three (15 of 26) on the night. Harshaw’s only attempts outside of three feet from the basket came on threes.

Central led 59-23 at the half.

The Jaguars improve to 5-0 on the young season and now have won 25 consecutive games dating back to Dec. 10, 2019.

The Jaguars will get Arkansas City at home on Tuesday before traveling to rival Andover on Friday night. Then, the Jags get revenge against McPherson on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at home.
