Roger Marshall: Don’t be fooled — Barbara Bollier is no moderate
Democrats are trying to pull another fast one on you. First, they spent $5 million trying to meddle in the Republican primary. Now, they’re spending even more money to convince you that Barbara Bollier is a moderate.
Don’t fall for it. Barbara Bollier has always been an extreme liberal, regardless of her party affiliation.
Bollier is in total lockstep with the most extreme elements of the abortion lobby. She voted to allow late-term “dismemberment abortions.” She voted against health inspections of abortion clinics. She supports using aborted babies’ fetal tissue for research. And she opposed a bill that would have guaranteed the state never subsidizes abortions.
And — just like out-of-touch liberals in Washington — Bollier looks down on those of us who stand for life. Bollier attended a 2018 rally supporting pro-abortion Planned Parenthood, where demonstrators called pro-life Kansans “sexist” and “racist.”
She is not a moderate. And that’s just one issue.
Bollier has spent millions on ads talking about how she will work across party lines. Yet even when she was an elected Republican in the state House and Senate, she voted with Democrats 90% of the time.
Do Kansans really want someone who will vote with Chuck Schumer more than 90% of the time in the U.S. Senate?
Bollier’s record on spending and the economy is equally liberal.
She once said she’s “not a believer that we have a spending problem.”
She’s opposed virtually every major effort to cut taxes for Kansans in the last 20 years.
And Bollier completely supports Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who are proposing a $3 trillion tax increase. Not only is that the largest proposed tax increase in American history, it’s the largest proposed tax increase in world history. Barbara Bollier wants the government to keep more of your money.
Today, she says she supports a public option. Previously, she shared Facebook posts embracing a single-payer, socialized healthcare system. And the public option itself is just one additional stop on the way to socialized medicine.
Bollier’s liberal views aren’t limited to domestic policy, either. When she had the chance to stand against anti-Israel movements — like the BDS Movement — Bollier voted no.
AOC, Ilhan Omar, and the rest of the Squad would be proud.
Finally, Barbara Bollier has proven she cannot be trusted to defend the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Kansans or support our law enforcement officers.
Bollier attended a pro-gun control event at the Obama White House. She opposed a bill allowing law-abiding 18-20 year olds to obtain a concealed carry permit. She’s openly said she’s comfortable with additional restrictions on firearms available for law abiding Kansans.
Finally, where has Bollier been as violent crime has risen across the nation, including in Kansas City?
Bollier has refused to condemn the radical defund-the-police movement. She has refused to condemn the rioters attempting to tear us apart. And she has refused to call out the liberal politicians who’ve allowed violence and anarchy to rein for months on end.
Barbara Bollier can run as many ads as she wants, but the record still shows that her values are closer to AOC and the Squad’s than Kansans. The contrast in this election is as clear as any I can remember — and by the way, Bollier’s first vote as a Senator would be to make Chuck Schumer majority leader.
Kansans — you didn’t fall for the Democrats’ games in the primary. Don’t fall for them in November.
