Making his list: Santa visits Boom Town

Santa handed out candy canes to all the boys and girls during Santa at Boom Town.

True to fashion, Santa Claus braved the elements, to visit the boys and girls this year — but it wasn’t the cold or snow he had to battle, it was coronavirus.

On Saturday, December 5, 2020, Santa greeted visitors at the 1885 Foster Schoolhouse that was decorated with lamps and a Christmas Tree courtesy of Cardinal Creek Farms.

Despite the challenges, Santa and his elves at the Kansas Oil Museum made sure every child in El Dorado had the opportunity to tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Whether in person at a safe and social distance, or by dropping a letter off at the drive-through mailbox, children gave him their list and assured Santa of their best behavior all year long.

This year only one family at a time cold meet with Santa during festivities at the Kansas Oil Museum in El Dorado.

Visitors were treated to candy canes and hot cocoa or apple cider compliments of Hogoboom Oilfield Trucking.
