On Tuesday morning, it was announced due to complications with COVID-19 at El Dorado, the Friday night game between the two AVCTL-III teams will be canceled.
There is no indication if there was an outbreak within the Wildcat team or if this is only a numbers thing due to a potential infection.
The Bullpups waited little time finding an opponent for their Friday night game. Now, instead of hosting El Dorado, they will host Leavenworth
On the other side of the coin, McPherson has already rescheduled its game to host Leavenworth at home. The junior varsity will travel to Andale on Monday and the freshman will play Garden Plain on Thursday.
McPherson is currently unbeaten in regular season play and saw the improvement week after week. After losing so many from a season ago, the Bullpups were starting to find their stride.
On the El Dorado side of things, the Wildcats may lose next week’s game, too. With how most cancellations have gone throughout the state, when you lose one game, you lose the following week, too. El Dorado is currently scheduled to play Wellington for Week 6 at home. Now, that is influx.
