CALDWELL, KANSAS -- The Caldwell Bluejays were hot on Friday night, taming the Mustangs of Flint Hills 52-6.
Flint Hills drops to 0-2 on the season and have dropped four straight dating back to last season.
Caleb Noyes was a do it all yourself type of guy for Caldwell. He ran for 78 yards and four touchdowns. He threw for another 60 yards for Caldwell.
Flint Hills fell behind early and often. First it was Caldwell’s Jude Stow capping off a drive with a 5-yard touchdown score. Then, Noyes would score two more touchdowns, putting the Bluejays up 20-0 after a quarter.
Flint Hills answered back in the second quarter when Levi Brown hopped on his horse and galloped 62 yards for the score, bringing Flint Hills within 22-6.
Colby Lee would punch one in on the ground and Noyes would counter before the half on a 54-yard punt return to make it 36-6 at halftime.
Noyes would punch in two more scores in the third quarter to send the game into an official mercy rule.
Flint Hills will now travel to Oxford to play the Wildcats in Week 3. Last year Flint Hills ended a 37-game losing streak by beating Oxford. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
