Butler’s Kyla Callins has been selected as an honorable mention All-American by the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee.

The 5’ 10” sophomore forward from Wichita South High School averaged 10.4 points per game this season. She also led the team with an average of 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.

During the Grizzlies’ three games at the Region VI tournament at Hartmann Arena, Callins scored 18 points per game and hauled in 10 rebounds per game as Butler won the Region VI championship for the first time in program history.

Callins was voted tournament MVP and was a first team All-KJCCC selection as well.

Four other Jayhawk Conference athletes earned All-American honors. Seward County’s Silvia Stephens earned first team honors, while Cowley’s Kedranea Addison was voted second team. DejaNae Roebuck of Hutchinson earned third team honors, while her teammate, Jada Mickens was an honorable mention.
