Earl J. Moody
Earl Junior Moody, 93, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 4, 1928, in Niotaze, Kansas, to Earl Thurman Moody and Mary Inez (Norris) Moody. He graduated from Blackwell (Oklahoma) High School in 1946. Earl spent many of his working years as a manager of quality control in manufacturing and aircraft, thus, building a reputation of honesty and trust with all whom he came into contact.
On March 14, 1951, he married Edna Ruth (Henderson) Moody, they had four children. Edna preceded him in death March 20, 2006. Later, Earl married Janet (Mott) Wimmer on April 18, 2009, she survives.
Earl was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses June 20, 1958. As such, he enjoyed teaching others valuable Bible truths about God’s purpose for mankind to live in paradise on earth. Earl was known as a loving, kind, and positive person that truly cared about others.
Besides his wife, he was survived by his son, Curtis Moody, Beggs, OK;son-in-law, Michael Calhoun, Corpus Christi, TX; and daughter, Charisse (Randy) Rockett, Augusta. Earlhad six grandchildren whom he adored, Kelsey Moody and Andrea (Russell) Reynolds, both of Coweta, OK, Keesha (Patrick) Branson of Beggs, OK; Rhianna (Mark) Wondolowski and Alex “AJ” (Crystal) Calhoun, both of Corpus Christi, TX; Candi Hooks, Wichita, KS; nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother, Don Moody of St. Augustine, FL,sisters, Joyce Miller of Danville, CA, and Rosemary Allen ofOrange Park, FL.
Besides his first wife, Edna, Earl was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Moody and Shirley Smith, and two daughters, Candace Moody and Cassandra Calhoun.
