Ralph Edward Snyder

Ralph Edward Snyder, 81, of Hutchinson, passed away September 30, 2021, at Reflection Living. He was born March 13, 1940, in El Dorado, to Clarence R. and Lois M. (Fenley) Snyder.

Ralph graduated from El Dorado High School and Butler County Community College.

On February 6, 1960, he married Gloria Ann Surber, in Miami, OK. They shared 58 years of marriage before her death on July 8, 2018.

Ralph and Gloria moved to Hutchinson in 1973, where he became manager of Big M Truck Stop. Ralph then became an insurance agent for Combined Insurance for many years. In 1995, they moved to the Yankee Run community at Kanopolis Lake, where they enjoyed living for over 20 years. An animal lover, Ralph enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed playing the banjo along with other various instruments.

Ralph is survived by: daughter, Cindy Ketchum and husband, Tim; son, Jeff Snyder, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, McKayla Hill and husband, Dylan, of Abbyville, Catrina Maskil and husband, Steve of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Cienna, and Carson Maskil; siblings, Shirley Patton, Brian Snyder and wife Shirley, Karla Knight, all of El Dorado; and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gloria.

Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kindred Hospice of Hutchinson or Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
