Danny Robert Burns

Danny Robert Burns, 64 went to be with Jesus on September 8th, 2021. Born in El Dorado Kansas on November 13, 1956 to Gary and Margie Burns.

In 1980 after graduating from Bible College he married Viola Hell. After 10 years in ministry they moved back to El Dorado to raise their 2 girls, Heather and Ashley. Dan loved being a dad, teaching the girls how to love Jesus, change tires and oil on their cars and other things to help them be independent strong women.

Mission trips to Gonaive Haiti, a Big brother for Big Brother/Big Sister organization and mentored any young man that came into his life without a good father figure was his passion.

Dan was a guy who never met a stranger. Rich or poor he would find a way to connect with a person, with the goal of sharing Christ whether by word or action.

KU Jayhawks and KC Chiefs were his teams...he had socks, shoes, slippers, banners, jersey's, window clings, pj's and tee shirts to prove it.

Dan thrived on challenges whether it was getting a new customer who said "no" to say "yes" to our business or fixing all the non-working tools he was given which he fixed. Also, the 1924 Ford Model-T that wasn't running that he received as collateral for a loan...yep, he got it running...just a few of the challenges he took on and conquered.

In the last 6 years ministering to men to become bold Godly husbands and fathers, was his passion. He stated "I may have a good 20 years of life left and all I want to do is disciple men to disciple men" and that is exactly what he was doing until he got sick.
