Rosalia, KS - Patricia "Pat" Hinton's life began on June 7, 1937 in New York City, New York; the daughter of Patrick and Roseann (McKenna) Thornton. Pat worked hard for her family keeping the family home in order. She was united to Gary Hinton on November 16, 1984 in Colby, KS. Pat enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching television. In her younger days, Pat loved working in the garden, keeping an eye out for her favorite birds, the cardinals and canning with Gary. She was an excellent cook as well. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children, Alice Lindstrom, Sharon (David) Warren, Brenda (Sam Gallegos) Bowen, Kirk Bowen and Michelle (Jed) Morse; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; siblings William "Bill" (Elsie) Thornton, Rita (John) Walsh, Dorothy Thornton, Patrick "Paddy" (Linda) Thornton and John Thornton. Pat passed away on September 11, 2021 in Kansas City, KS. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary; daughter Susan Hill, 2 grandchildren, her siblings and her parents. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 24 at 11am at Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia. Memorial contributions in Pat's name may be directed to the Midwest Transplant Network, of which, Pat was a donor.
