El Dorado - Letha "Anne" Thompson's life began on January 11, 1932 in Clearwater, KS; the daughter of James and Retha (Cheek) Kunkel. She was united in marriage to Raymond Thompson on September 26, 1953 in Wellington, KS. She enjoyed making quilts, following family history and genealogy, dancing, playing cards, playing the piano and travel. Her greatest joy was her family, which includes her children, Mike (Monica) Thompson of El Dorado, Russ (Linda) Thompson of Rosalia, Krystal (David) Hutfles of Derby, stepdaughters Barbara Miller of Arizona, Martha Rowley of El Dorado, Virginia Chambers of Tunnelton, West Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren; brothers James (Cheryl) Kunkel of Clearwater, KS and Bob (Carolyn) Kunkel of Eads, TN and sisters Sharon (Ron)Whistler of Kansas City, MO and Rickie Jo Hay of El Dorado and several nieces and nephews. Anne passed away on August 26, 2021 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond and one great-grandson. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7 on Thursday, September 2 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 3 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at White Chapel in Wichita. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Heart and Diabetes Associations.
