Ann Marie "Annie" Karst
Ann Marie "Annie" Karst was reunited with her late husband Charlie on Aug 8, 2021. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by all of her children. Annie was born January 27, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas but made El Dorado, Kansas her home since 1983.
Annie was truly one of a kind, with her free spirit and giving heart. She spent many years providing child care and housing college kids in her home. She welcomed all of these children into our family, which was her greatest passion. She would tell her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandson they were all her favorites, which one, depended upon the day. To say she was talented would be an understatement. Her talents and creativity shined through in her sewing, gardening, home makeovers and her metal yard art. With Annie's infectious personality and love for life, she truly had a knack for bringing people together. She encouraged and helped each of us to find our talents and passions by giving us the confidence and support to try many things. Beyond her love of her family and friends, Annie also had a love of music (especially Steven Tyler), fall road trips, and working alongside her family in whatever project we had at the time. Annie would choose making memories over a clean house any day. We will always cherish that extra time with her.
She is survived by: her children Nathan Winter (Melissa), Jeremiah Winter (Beverly), Thaddeus Winter (Aaron), Destiny Haskins (Shane); grandchildren Dakotah Winter (Brianna), Dayton Winter (Emily), Dallas Winter, Addison and Emmerson Haskins and great-grandson Samuel Winter; four-legged companion Poppy; siblings Tony Lerda (Linda), Dan DeBruler (Dorothy) and Ernie DeBruler (Laura).
At Annie's request, family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bradford Memorial Library children's department.
