Lois Earlene Cool

El Dorado - Lois Earlene Cool, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 94. Lois was born on February 21, 1927 in Udall, Kansas to Earl and Leona (Wagner) Satterthwaite. She was very active in the American Legion. She was the chaplain for the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and very active in the American Legion Ladies Golf Association. She also enjoyed bowling throughout her entire adult life and was always on a bowling team. She also spent quite some time as Cub Scout leader and she was a longtime volunteer for the Susan B Allen Pink Ladies. She was a Regional Manager for Avon for many years. Lois married the love of her life, Howard Cool, on December 10, 1944. Together they raised their children and had a wonderful life together full of love and happiness until his passing on June 19, 2019. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Even as they grew up and built families of their own, she was still there and being the good, loving mom that they always knew. Lois was a very wonderful lady who had a contagious laugh and a twinkle in her eye. She loved people so much and was very warm, kind, and thoughtful. She was devoted to her faith and was a longstanding member of the First Christian Church of El Dorado, even teaching there for a while. She worked hard to help others find their way to Christ. Lois was a very loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

Lois is survived by her children, Marla (Bill) Lopeman of Rose Hill, Kansas, Brad (Roxann) Cool of El Dorado, Kansas, and Troy Cool of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Matt Bump, Caid Bump, and Raegen Cool; great grandchildren, Kailey Bump, Kinsley Bump, and Riley Bump; siblings, Shirley (Jim) Moreland and Dale Satterthwaite; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including lifelong friends Georgia and Bill Higgins.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Leona (Wagner) Satterthwaite; siblings, Elwood Satterthwaite and Waunita (Nit) Gilbert; sister-in-law, Bonnie Satterthwaite; son, Terrel Ross; and grandson, Blake Cool.

Memorial donations in Lois' name can be made to the Kansas Honor Flight, the First Christian Church of El Dorado, or the Susan B Allen Ladies Auxiliary.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. A Funeral will take place at 10am on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the First Christian Church of El Dorado.
