Teddy Harrison Bear

Rose Hill - Teddy Harrison Bear, 89, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Teddy was born on Thursday, February 25, 1932 in Freeport, Kansas to Paul and Olga (Wohlschlegel) Bear. Teddy served his country in the U.S. Army and had served during the Korean War from 1952-1954. Teddy had worked as a self-employed welder for Bear Welding for 25 years and retired in 1984. Teddy learned how to weld from Henry Retter. Teddy loved helping his family, whether it was a welding project, gardening tips or baking bread. He loved being outside in his garden, he always started planning in December for his spring garden. He was always happy to see the grandkids and was a magnet for the little ones. He could almost fix anything unless it was welding aluminum. If something was broke Teddy would find a way to fix it. His passing has left a huge void in our family and he is and will always be missed. If you asked him if he needed anything he would tell you nope, not a thing. Maybe just a little kindness and a smile.

Teddy is survived by his wife Carolyn; Carol's children James McAllister, Steve McAllister, Donna (Michael) Hottman, Alan McAllister and Russell (Jennifer) McAllister; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Teddy is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Family will hold a Graveside Memorial Service on Tuesday July 27th at 10:30 at the Winfield Veteran's Cemetery, 1208 N. College Street in Winfield.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the American Cancer Society, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
