G. Naomi "Cookie" Cyphers

Augusta - G. Naomi "Cookie" Cyphers, 100, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2021.

Cookie was born on Wednesday, September 1, 1920 in Augusta, Kansas to Herbert E. and Isla M. (Harrison) Fennell. She was united in marriage to Milam (Mike) Cyphers on August 30, 1941 in Wichita. Cookie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper for Findlay Chevrolet dealership, Robinson Electric, and Knebler Construction Company. She also served as the director of Osage Manor for ten years. Cookie was a longtime member of the Augusta United Methodist Church and was in Ladies Circle. She was an active member of Soroptimist Club and the Brown Baggers Book Club. Cookie enjoyed reading, traveling, swimming and walking.

Cookie is survived by her sons Mike (Judy) Cyphers of Bel Aire and Bill (Elaine) Cyphers of Augusta; sister Ann Wilson of Augusta; five grandchildren and spouses, Pam (Darrell) Braden of Haysville, Jon (Alissa) Cyphers of Wichita, Kristyn (Gary) Eastman of Olathe, Kevin (Emily) Cyphers of Andover, and Kyle (Emily) Cyphers also of Andover; nine great-grandchildren, Bryan and Heather Braden, Krys (Jesse) Burris, Ian Cyphers, Grant and Katelyn Eastman, Carter, Trenton and Ethan Cyphers, and many nieces and nephews.

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, and her sister Leona Hooper.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Private family service will be held.

Memorials may be given to Augusta United Methodist Church or Augusta Public Library, left in care of Dunsford Funeral Home.
