Gerold Oliver Wright, 80, retired Cessna jig ]shop supervisor and Air National Guard veteran, passed away on December 1, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

Gerold was born on August 31, 1939 to Oscar and Vera (Robbins) Wright in Wellington, KS. When Gerold was in third grade his family moved from Wichita to Towanda where he graduated from high school in 1957. Gerold married the love of his life, Mary Ray in Towanda in June of 1962 and they spent the next 57 years together growing their family of three children, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Gerold enjoyed following the children in all their different sports.

Gerold was a member of the Midian Shrine Club Palomino Drill Team, the VFW and the Masons. He loved riding motorcycles and horses and enjoyed boating, gardening and canning and later in life enjoyed traveling to Missouri and spending three, four, five and sometimes even six months there with his family.

Gerold is survived by his loving wife Mary of the home; children Kelly Wright (Lynne), Karen Weimer (Randy) and Kevin Wright (Marsha); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home, 206 E. Central Ave., El Dorado and funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019; also at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Benton Cemetery with military honors rendered by The Kansas National Guard. We would ask that weather permitting everyone that can honor Gerold by riding their motorcycles.
