Elizabeth (Beth) Fischer Markley passed away August 29, 2019 in Topeka.
Beth was born in Halstead, Kansas, on November 13, 1935. She lived in Augusta all her life with the exception of the past three years. Beth worked at the State Department of Health in Wichita before taking the job of Executive Secretary at Mobile Oil Corporation. Mobile Oil closed in 1983 and Beth became Secretary at St. James Catholic School in Augusta where she worked until she retired.
Beth Fischer married Lyle Markley April 11, 1955. Beth is survived by her husband Lyle, their two children Rhonda (Kent) Lammers and Dan (Heather) Markley, their five grandchildren, David (Taylor) Lammers, Desiree (Dustin) Heath, Korinna (Scottie) Ghee, Devonny (John) Crawford, Brett Markley and five great grandchildren, Kaleb and Preston Ghee, Dominic and Colson Crawford and Jayla Heath.
The funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 14 at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be directed to Kansas Palliative and Hospice Care, 6828 Silverheel Street, Shawnee, KS 66226.
