Elizabeth K. Shelton passed away on Jan. 19, 2019
Elizabeth Kay Shelton, a longtime resident of Augusta, departed this life for her heavenly reward on Jan. 19, 2019, at her home after an illness.
Elizabeth was born in Forth Worth, Texas on June 5, 1952 to James and Ola Mae Shockey and grew up in Colorado and Oklahoma before graduating from high school in North Richland Hills, Texas. She retired after spending many years as an agent with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines in Wichita.
She is preceded in death by both her parents and two sisters.
She is survived by: her four children, John Zachary of Rosharon, Texas, Marie Shelton of Fort Worth, Texas, Sara Baker (Jack) of Chanute, Kan., and Stephen Shelton of Chanute; five grandchildren, two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors including her beloved church family at Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church in Augusta.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church, 9959 Southwest Pampas Rd., Augusta, with Pastor Dan Anderson officiating.
