Marjorie J. Hufman, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Visitation with family present will be from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by memorial service at 2 p.m. led by Pastor Ron Jones on Monday, Dec. 31, at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
Marjorie was born on Jan. 29, 1942 in Missouri, the daughter of Roger and June (Bowe) Prewitt. Marjorie was united in marriage to Donald Hufman who preceded her in death in 1981. As a young woman, she worked at the Coleman Company in Wichita, but spent most of her working career until retirement at the Butler County Treasurer’s office. Marjorie was an avid golfer and loved art, especially painting landscapes and animals. She enjoyed making crafts to give to her family and friends and was a well-cherished pie and dessert maker. Marjorie enjoyed puzzles, vegetable and later flower gardening and most significantly, she was a longtime volunteer and donor for Red Cross Blood Drives, donating many gallons of life-saving blood over the years.
She is survived by: her son Sam Hufman of El Dorado; step-daughters, Christine Wilson of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Michelle (Kerry) Scherr of Denver, Colo.; siblings, Marilyn Porter of Wichita and Randy Prewitt of Leon; nieces, Susan (Paul) Navarrete, Lisa Foos, Janet (Ross) Reed, and Courtney Prewitt; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends Heath (April) Pressnell and Abigail and Samantha Pressnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
