LaDonna E. Adelsperger, 78, passed away on Oct. 30, 2018
LaDonna E. (Honn) Adlesperger, 78, passed away on Oct. 30, 2018, after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.
LaDonna was born to Carroll and Mildred (Stebbins) Honn on Nov. 6, 1939 in El Dorado. Her desire was to make it back home to the farm, so that she could see her dog and hear the sounds of the cattle, and the family made sure that happened. LaDonna was a self-professed tomboy, choosing to hang out at the rodeo grounds every chance she got. She was a natural around livestock, and loved owning and riding horses…the more hands tall the better. She was a very beautiful woman, known for her silk blouses, flawless makeup, beautiful tan, and gorgeous smile. She was happiest when she was on Dick’s arm, and they made such a striking couple. It was at the tender age of 14 that she met and married her soul mate, Dick Adlesperger. Married just shy of 64 years, LaDonna’s life with Dick was the reason she said she was born. To their long and loving marriage came two sons, Doug and Dan, whom LaDonna cherished. She loved to travel with Dick, especially to tropical places, and made a wonderful country home for her family. LaDonna and Dick were the loving grandparents of 11 very special grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two more great grandbabies on the way. LaDonna maintained a wonderful sense of humor to the very end, and expressed her love to family with the last bit of strength she had.
Those she leaves behind are: sons, Doug (Sabra) Adlesperger and Dan Adlesperger; sister, Carolyn (Tom) Cotton; daughter in law, Angie Adlesperger; grandchildren, Josh, Sheena, Tenne, Jordan, Brooke, Taylor, Straughn, Logan, Aspen, Talon and Lakin; nine great grandchildren and two more on the way; brother in law, Don Adlesperger.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her husband of 63+ years Dick Adlesperger; her parents Carroll and Mildred Honn; and her in-laws, Ray and Anna (Noel) Adlesperger. Losing Dick in June of 2018 was devastating for LaDonna, and we find peace knowing that he met her at the gates of heaven, took her by the hand, and they are riding around in the truck, looking at livestock and eating ice cream!
A celebration of LaDonna’s life will take place at a later date.
