Norman E. Turner, 86, passed away on Feb. 22, 2018, at Lakepoint in El Dorado.
Visitation with family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday; funeral service, led by Pastor Ronald Jones, Sr.,  will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, both at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, El Dorado.  Burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.
Norman was born on Sept. 30, 1931 in Madison, Kan., the son James E. and Audrey Opal (Evans) Turner.  Norman was a 1949 graduate of Madison High School.  On Sept. 16, 1951, he married Barbara Hanes in Madison.  Norman worked in the oil fields for Occidental Petroleum as a pumper.  He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.  Norman enjoyed fishing, camping, riding horseback and playing guitar.  His greatest joy was his faith and family.  
His loving family includes: his children, Mike (Dinah) Turner of El Dorado and Lizabeth Turner of El Dorado; granddaughters, Dea (Eric) Littrell of Fairborn, Ohio, Mindy (Ron) Reynolds of Wichita, and Micah (Cameron) Herrick of Wichita; five great grandchildren, Tyas, Caydon, Talyn, Corryn and Rayne; one great granddaughter, Willow; his sister in law, Melba Turner of Broken Arrow, Okla.; brother in law and sister in law, Wayne and Darla Hanes of El Dorado, and Donald and Carline Esslinger of Liberty, Mo.  
 He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2011; son; Greg in 1975; two brothers and two sisters; and his parents.
