Vivian Jane LaVerne Lemasters, 82, passed away on Dec. 23, 2017
Vivian’s life began on Oct.9, 1935 in El Dorado, the daughter of Frank and Bertha Jane Sophia (Watson) Cannon. Vivian is a 1952 graduate of El Dorado High School and she attended business college in Wichita. Vivian was the operator and owner of the El Dorado Skating Rink. She was an avid sports fan and competitive speed skating coach. Vivian travelled to many meets and venues to coach and encourage speed skaters. She was also a national speed skating tabulator for many years. Vivian’s extended family and friends were other coaches, competitors and officials in the speed skating world nationwide. Vivian attended Trinity Episcopal Church in El Dorado. She enjoyed her bridge club, pampering her pets and knitting.
Her greatest joy was her family which includes: her two daughters Ruth (Danny) Fechter of El Dorado and Susan Lemasters of Midwest City, Okla.; grandchildren, Tia (Jake) Underwood, Ryan (Dalton Dowdy) Lemasters, Amber (Tad) McLaren, and Danna (Scott) Lee; great grandchildren Veronica, Vanessa and Taya Frees, Elizabeth, Daniel and Andrew McLaren, Janae, Jordan, and Jackson Lee; great great grandchild, Brannon Kirby; former spouse, Billy Reed Lemasters; lifelong special friend, Maurice Swihart.
Vivian passed away on Dec. 23, 2017 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Lemasters; sister, Helen Trigg; brothers, Cliff and Harry Cannon.
Her family will gather with friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Requiem mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, El Dorado, led by Mother Christine Gilson. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
