The following are the 2019 El Dorado High School Students of the Month courtesy of EHS:
Ryan Hus is the son of Nick and Katie Ketterman and Carrie and Gordon Larcom.
He has been a member of the soccer team for four years and the tennis team for two years. He has played in the band for four years and has been in Drumline for three years.
When Ryan is not in school he plays for the Augusta Raptors soccer club and has for the last two years. His hobbies include playing soccer and video games.
After graduation, he plans to attend Butler or WSU to major in athletic training.
Garrett Meyer is the son of Scott and Dianne Meyer.
He has been a member of the football team for four years, basketball team for four years and, after this year, the track and field team for four years. He has also participated in band for four years, which includes being drum major for the last year and a part of the drum line for one year.
Garrett has been an active member of DECA for the last four years, a Freshman First mentor for the last two years, and played on the Iron Man Volleyball team the last three years.
Outside of school, he has been a part of his church’s youth group for the last six years.
When he isn’t at school his hobbies include playing sports, video games and watching movies.
Garrett doesn’t know where he will end up attending college but knows it will be close to home. He is still exploring different majors. His hope is to continue his track and field career into college.
Kai Wernli is the son of David and Rebecca Wernli.
Throughout high school, he has been a member of the wrestling, football and tennis teams. He has also participated in National Honors Society, Band and been the Drumline captain.
When Kai isn’t in school, his outside activities include the Walnut Valley Sailing Club and mowing lawns. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, watching Star Wars and sailing.
After graduation, he plans to attend Kansas University to major in mechanical engineering with a biomedical emphasis through the Naval ROTC program. He then plans to serve in the Navy for 5-10 years post college.
Kealy Wilson is the daughter of Chris and Angie Wilson.
She has been a member of the tennis team for four years, soccer team for two years, played in band since fifth grade and on color-guard for four years.
When Kealy graduates, she plans to attend Butler Community College to acquire her prerequisites so she can further her studies in becoming an orthodontist.
