AUGUSTA — Repairs on one of two U.S. 54 bridges over the BNSF Railroad in Augusta have been completed. Work on the other bridge has been suspended for the winter, according to a Kansas Department of Transportation news release.

Work on the westbound bridge over the railroad has been completed. Although the first phase on the eastbound bridge has been finished, the second phase will begin in the spring. That part of the project is expected to be completed in the summer.

Both bridges will be open to unrestricted traffic, KDOT reported.

Crews have been patching and repairing joints on both bridge decks in addition to resurfacing on the eastbound bridge.
