Evelyn Rose (Wintermote) Place passed away peacefully Monday (May 13, 2019), having reached the age of 91 years old.

Evelyn's life began on April 27, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Rollings) Wintermote in Benton. She attended Benton and El Dorado schools.

She married Robert “Bob” Doerflinger on March 1, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1993. She then married David Place on Aug. 21, 1998, and he preceded her in death in 2009.

Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed Find-a-Word Puzzles, reading and playing Bingo.

Her loving family includes her son, Rick Sammons of Bel Aire, Maryland; brother, Ron Wintermote of El Dorado; son-in-law, John Sullivan of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren: Christiana Sammons, Stacey Creasey, Curt Sullivan and J.R. Wilder; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Carol Sullivan; brother, Victor Wintermote; and a sister, Cleta Caput.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday (May 15, 2019) at Carlson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (May 16, 2019) at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
