Robert and Donnese Harsh Celebrate 65 Years Together

Robert and Donnese (Willhite) Harsh of Cassoday, Kansas were married 65 years ago this summer on June 20, 1953 in Huntsville, Arkansas.

Robert graduated from Cassoday High School, El Dorado Junior College, Kansas State Teachers College and earned his Master’s Degree from Emporia State University. He taught school for 43 years and coached for 35 at Burdick, Lost Springs, Rosalia Elementary, and Flinthills High School, retiring in 1997. He operates Harsh Farms with his sons. Donnese graduated from Rosalia High School, worked at Southwestern Bell in El Dorado and Emporia, then 27 years as Lunchroom Manager for Flinthills USD 492, followed by 10 years with the US Postal Service in North Newton and retiring in 1999 as Cassoday Postmaster. They have been very involved in their community including the Cassoday United Methodist Church and the Cassoday Historical Museum.

 They have two sons, Bob and wife Susan (Stoddard), El Dorado and Terrie and wife Sue (Flohrschutz), Cassoday, five granddaughters, Erica (Steven) Haines, Candice (Travis) Thorburn, Abby (Dustin) Wahl, Hope Harsh & Baylie Harsh, six great-grandchildren, Perry Haines, Preston, Lyndon and Sophia Reyna and Curren and Ryder Wahl.
