Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce
With a theme of “Love One Another” the National Day of Prayer will be celebrated in El Dorado with the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. on May 2. The Prayer Breakfast is sponsored by the El Dorado Chamber and endorsed by El Dorado Mayor Vince Haines.
Love One Another is a fitting theme, as Kimberly Fross, who as Executive Director of the Pregnancy and Family Resource Center, will share her testimony and about the love that is shown to families in need of Love.
In her teen and early adult years, she was a sought-after soloist, and later continued that musical talent with speaking for retreats, banquets and other Christian gatherings.
Going through many challenges, she became the mother of five children and in a failed marriage. Her children are Anna, Gabe, Luke, Josiah and Elijah, and she has two grandchildren. She will share the blessings of her family, but how she struggled to overcome the adaptation to many issues in her life, including panic attacks.
Believing that marriage was forever, she struggled with dealing with her broken marriage, continuing to trust and serve the Lord and raising those four boys and one girl. The storybook life she envisioned simply did not happen.
Through financial difficulties, she knew that she had to find a job, but with two and one-half years of college education, but no degree, she stepped out on faith and applied for a part time position with the Pregnancy and Family Resource Center. She got the job, eventually moving into the director’s position. God Blessed all who worked before her and she has continued to build the organization with limited staff and many volunteers.
After the divorce, through patience with the dating game, she found love and acceptance with Brad Fross. He is supportive of her mission in the Center and has been an encourager to her to overcome years of disappointment in marriage. Their blended family now included Kim’s children, Brad’s son and two grandchildren, who are the light of her life.
Her current mission with the Center is the renovation of the Historic, former Graves Drugstore building into a multi-faceted center that focuses on rebuilding families and restoring lives. The Pregnancy and Family Resource Center shares the love and compassion of Christ with those facing pregnancy and parenting choices in a safe, non-judgmental and relational environment.
They also provide the Great Beginnings Boutique program, that offers high quality resale clothing to the community. It is a popular and successful fundraiser for the Center.
