Feb. 14 anniversary

Please join us, the children of Janice and Wes Hammond, as we honor our parents on their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14th.
This love story began in 1957 when the couple met on a train headed for Montana.  Janice had just graduated from high school in St. Paul, Minnesota and was traveling to her grandparents in northeastern Montana.  Wes was returning from leave to the Air Force Base in Havre, Mont., where he was stationed.  Wearing a white dress with red polka dots and red high-heeled shoes, Janice mistakenly sat next to Wes who was looking handsome in his Air Force attire.  Luckily the conductor allowed her to stay, and the romance began.  After writing letters for three months, Wes invited Janice to visit his home and family in Augusta.  At that time, he asked her to marry him and gave her an engagement ring.  They were married on Feb. 14, 1959, in St. Paul, Minn.  They are blessed with two children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
We invite you to celebrate this special day with Wes and Janice by sending a card or note to express your good wishes.  They may be sent to:  Wes and Janice Hammond, 1912 Meadowlake Dr., Augusta, KS 67010.
