T-Birds, Orioles baseball split

AUGUSTA – As the baseball season winds down and teams are vying for sub-state seeds and a potential home playoff opener, every game this time of year looms large. For Class 4A contenders Augusta and Circle, Friday’s doubleheader was so important that Circle agreed to play the games at Augusta just to get it in, with the Orioles designated the visitors on Circle’s Senior Night.

Rose Hill, El Dorado split

WICHITA – The flooded outfield at McDonald Stadium forced a change of venue for the Rose Hill-El Dorado baseball doubleheader. So, the Rockets and Wildcats played their twin bill on a very large stage – Wichita State’s Eck Stadium.

KC sports team up for Andover

Four of Kansas City’s professional sports franchises have announced a joint effort to help victims of the devastating tornado that ripped through Andover, Kansas last week. “On behalf of the Sporting Kansas City family, our thoughts are with all of the people and businesses affected by the tornado in Andover,” said Sporting Kansas City President and CEO Jake Reid.
