I find baseball to be such a unique sport. It doesn’t sometimes matter who has the best player on the field. It’s a team game. In basketball and football, you can have such a dominant player and still at least win some games. In baseball, most of the time, if you don’t have 3-4 guys who can help produce, you’re going to struggle to win a lot of your games. If you can find two or three of those guys. Sometimes even more, you can find yourself with a solid ball club. You may even surprise some folks.

This year’s softball field felt very strong. Whether it was in Class 2A-1A where Bluestem rolled to the state tournament or it was in 5A, where Andover Central almost snuck their way into the state tournament. That’s because of the level of commitment these girls have put together each season continues to show on the field and that’s why we’re getting this high level of softball.
