Kalon Fullerton The sixth ranked Butler Grizzlies started the 2022 season in style as they traveled to Rochester, New York on Thursday, defeating the 12th ranked Monroe Tribunes in impressive fashion, earning a 3-0 shutout victory. Kenzee Goodwin scored the first goal of the season for the Grizzlies 27 minutes into the first half, taking a breakaway off a pass from Yossi Villagrana and slotting it past the keeper to give Butler the lead.
High School sports are now underway as the first day of practice finally came on Monday. All 11 high schools saw their first dip into the new fall seasons. With temperatures over 100 degrees, it was about heat management, while getting prepped for a season that starts in a little over three weeks. For some sports like tennis, they start on Saturday.
