Charles Chaney BCTG Sports Editor For the Butler Grizzlies, it’s been a renaissance of a program that was once considered the gem of junior college football. Before Last Chance U and media rights deals, it was Butler football, standing head and shoulders above the rest of the NJCAA.
MCPHERSON, Kansas – The start of the season has been anything but perfect for the McPherson High School volleyball team, but the young Bullpups have begun to show promise following a 1-1 showing in a home triangular Tuesday evening.
EL DORADO – Last year’s Butler volleyball team set a pretty high bar, going 37-4 and running the table in the Jayhawk Conference at 16-0. However, graduation losses from that team forced coach Lisa Lechtenberg to reshape the roster and temper the high expectations for this season.
TOWANDA – The Andover Central coaches had to get a little creative with the lineup for Thursday’s varsity invitational tennis tournament at Circle, making changes the night before the tournament. “We just decided to change things up a little bit,” said Jaguars assistant coach Jaren Glaser, filling in for her mother, head coach Janet Glaser.
