On more than one occasion, I have made the passing comment that “the Darwinist has no answer to . . .” this or that phenomenon. For instance, we have said that the Darwinist has no answer for the irreducible complexity of particular biological systems in nature. Recall that an irreducibly complex system could not have come into existence through the slow step-by-step process of evolution because the system is not functional until all the components are in place.

Have You Met The Truth?

Throughout life we are always seeking truth. We want our one true soul mate. When we purchase a vehicle we check carfax to get the truth about that vehicle. When we buy a home we have a home inspector come and tell us the true condition of the home. Truth is something that is a good thing and we always want the truth on all circumstances.

Heaven and Earth or Whose Kingdom?

Not too long ago we experienced two pretty amazing natural phenomena. One is pretty rare, the other is pretty regular but they are both pretty amazing and they’re very similar to something Jesus talks about in Mark 13. It wasn’t that long ago that most of us were standing outside watching the eclipse. It doesn’t happen very often so it is pretty amazing to be in the dark in the middle of the day. But just as amazing, though not quite as visually impressive, is the way in which early flowers and plants sprout up from the ground when we’re still wearing heavy winter jackets thinking winter will never end. How do these plants know it’s time to sprout even when it’s still so cold outside? They must have a better weather man. Jesus is trying to help his disciples understand what is most important because Jesus is about to be killed, crushing their dreams of ruling Israel and the world from Jerusalem.

Is God Dead?

Over the last several months, we have been eager to explore the common ground between Christian believers and unbelievers. Those aspects of nature, life, and history are from which two people might engage in a fruitful discussion. After all, it has been the Bible skeptic, Michael, that we have spent much time discussing over the months. We have explored common ground through observations of the cosmos: the moons, the planets, and the stars. We also found common ground by exploring the apparent evidence of design found in nature, specifically in biological systems. We have also explored common ground among human beings who are dualistic in nature, having a material body and an immaterial spirit or soul. Indeed, much common ground exists between Christians and the Michaels of the world. But that is exactly what Christians would expect, being that all men are created equal “in the image and likeness of God” (Gen 1:26). Common ground.
