Tommy Eugene Bowen

Tommy Eugene Bowen, 68, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at home. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Tommy was born in Hillsboro, KS on September 26, 1953, to the late Margie (Piper) and Orlo C. Bowen. When Tommy was 16, he began working in the oil field and worked there for most of his life. Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing. On September 10, 1973 he married Anita (Garcia) Bowen in Peabody, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Rebecca Emond and husband Steven; son, Bryan Bowen; sisters, Donna Sweeny, and Charleen Radish and husband Dennis; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Memorial donations may be made to his family.

Ed Maness, Jr.

Ed Maness, Jr., 84, of Wichita, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Augusta. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 and service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Ed was born in Augusta, KS on June 28, 1937, to the late Mickey Boswell and Edward William Maness, Sr. He was a machinist at Boeing from 1955 to 1971 and a machine shop supervisor at Mobil from 1971 to 1993. He was also a projection operator at the Augusta Historical Theatre. On July 15, 1955 he married Alice Ann (Kiser) Maness in Eureka, KS. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by: his daughter, Debra Mead; brother, Fred Maness. He is survived by: son, Perry Maness and wife Stephanie of Augusta; daughter, Teresa Donnelley and husband Monty of Augusta; brother, Doan Maness; sisters, Patricia Fincher, and Cathy Reid; grandchildren, Alicia McLemore (Jason), Joseph David Mead (Gina), Clint Donnelley (Amanda), Nathan Donnelley, Rebecca Fletchall (Jason), and Chad Maness (Stormi); 24 great grandchildren; and a dear friend and care giver, Sallie Clark. Judy Kay (Sharp) Schouten, age 72, long-term resident of Leon, Kansas, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her new residence in Douglass, Kansas.
