Cassoday-Calvin’s life be-gan on July 5, 1930 in rural Cassoday, KS; the son of Robert and Stella (Hall-man) Hinde. He was a 1947 graduate of Cassoday High School.

Timothy A. Thomas

Timothy A. Thomas’s life began on June 20, 1951 in El Dorado, KS; the son of Thomas A. and Dorothy (Poe) Thomas. He was raised in Cassoday and graduated from Flint Hills High School. Timothy was a “jack of all trades”. If it could be fixed, he could repair it. He worked hard for his family, working at the refineries, ranching and truck driving. Timothy loved to spend time outdoors fishing. He loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were special to Timothy and his presence there will be missed. Timothy’s family includes his children Racheal (Annette) Delaney of Topeka, Thomas A. Thomas of Burns, Michael P. Thomas of Towanda and Erica D. Thomas of Topeka; 7 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren; mother, Dorothy Thomas of Oklahoma; siblings Stony B. Thomas of Cassoday and Betty (Glen) Melson of Oklahoma. Timothy passed away on February 25, 2022 in Kansas City. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Thomas, sister, Theresa Thomas, brother Roger Thomas and nephews Shane Thomas and Lane Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4 at 2pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Eugene V. Moser

Eugene V. Moser, 90, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at home. The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Woodridge Christian Church, Wichita, KS. Eugene was born in Augusta, KS on July 22, 1931, to the late Lillie Mae (Boucher) and Edd Moser. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Gene worked for 40 years at Kansas Gas and Electric Company. He was an active member of the Augusta Senior Center and Andover Historical Society. On October 20, 1950, he married Carol M. (Timmons) Moser at the Andover Methodist Church and she survives him. He is also survived by: daughters, Teresa Robinson and husband Bill of Wichita; and J’Nene Clark of Augusta; son, Brad Moser and wife Michel of Augusta; grandchildren, Regina Moore (Terry), Perry Jeffery Beals, Amy Trujillo (James), Shawna Latimer (Bob), Sarah Dilks (Darin), Laura Ballinger, Amanda Davis (Paul), and Rachel Fornelli; 16 great grandchildren and 4 greatgreat grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Ralph Moser. Tommy Eugene Bowen

Tommy Eugene Bowen, 68, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at home. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Tommy was born in Hillsboro, KS on September 26, 1953, to the late Margie (Piper) and Orlo C. Bowen. When Tommy was 16, he began working in the oil field and worked there for most of his life. Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing. On September 10, 1973 he married Anita (Garcia) Bowen in Peabody, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Rebecca Emond and husband Steven; son, Bryan Bowen; sisters, Donna Sweeny, and Charleen Radish and husband Dennis; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Memorial donations may be made to his family.

William Dwight Walker

William Dwight Walker was born April 5, 1950 in Augusta KS. At the age of 16, William signed to join the US Marine Corps. He spent almost two years in Okinawa, training and finishing high school courses, then joined the war in Vietnam in 1968. There he did two tours. After returning home, William began his career in Avionics with Cessna. He worked diligently, earning certifications, until becoming an Electrical Engineer. His prouder moments in Avionics came from his time at Boeing- working on Air Force One and the Airborne Laser. He is preceded in death by his parents: Isabelle Anne Genter and Lester M. Walker, His uncle and mentor Norman Maggard, sisters Janice Mendenhall and Diane Robinette, and best friend Lonnie Lynn. He is mourned in passing by Daughters Kimberly Castor and Bridget Melvin (Keith), Siblings Linda Mchone (Cheryl), Cindy Johnson, Leanna Henecy, Leslie Walker, Gary Walker, Michael Walker, Charlie Genter, and several grand children. Almeda Henderson

Almeda Marietta Matthews Henderson, 95, passed away on March 3, 2022. Services will be on Tuesday, March 8 at 10am at Carlson Funeral Home, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Almeda was born November 8, 1926, near DeGraff, Kansas to Frank and Mary Ina (Rasmussen) Matthews. She attended Towanda High School and El Dorado High School, where she graduated in 1944. She worked several places in El Dorado, including the El Dorado High School cafeteria and the Kansas Turnpike toll booth. She was a member of Towanda Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary and was talented in sewing, knitting and crocheting. Almeda and her husband, Bill enjoyed fishing together. Between their two families, she had many children and grandchildren and loved them all. In recent years, she enjoyed friend and activities at Homestead Assisted Living. Almeda was preceded in death by her husband Bill Henderson; son-in-law Gary Ware, step son Greg Henderson; grandson Scott Miller; and four brothers, Frank Matthews, Chester Matthews and two others who died in childhood. She is survived by her children Connie Ware, Richard Wayne (Kandy) Miller, and Frank Miller; two step-daughters Janice Smith and Carolyn Jorn, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild. Brian “Kelly” McNary

Brian “Kelly” McNary’s life began on April 21, 1950 in El Dorado, Kansas; the son of Robert and Helen (Holladay) McNary. Kelly worked hard for his family and enjoyed working with his hands. Kelly proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Burrows on February 18, 1984 in El Dorado. He enjoyed watching KU Basketball and tinkering in his workshop. Kelly’s greatest joy in life was his family, which includes his wife, Cynthia of El Dorado; children Byron (Cynthia) McNary of Wichita, Baranda (Jeremy) Boone of Okmulgee, OK and Kodie McNary of El Dorado; grandchildren Demara, Darris, Kyle, Dayla, Austin, Brock, Cylas and Journey; 4 greatgrandchildren and siblings Carmen Miller of El Dorado, Collen Schrag of Hutchinson and Rick McNary of Potwin. Kelly passed away on March 1, 2022 in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Mike McNary and Robert McNary. Friends may gather with the family from 11am-1pm on Monday, March 7 at Carlson Colonial Chapel where his funeral service will be held at 1pm.
