Norma Agard

Norma Jean Agard, 86, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022. Memorial service 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 1550 N Chapel Hill St., Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Norma was born in Augusta, KS on Apri Norma was born in Augusta, KS on April 29, 1935, to the late Ellen Bertha (Heimeyer) and William Nelson Gardner. Norma worked as an executive secretary for Pizza Hut and Big Cheese Pizza. On November 21, 1981, she married Gary L. Agard in Augusta, KS, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her children, Jerry Millison, Kerry Millison, and Mikki Hall Potter; and brothers, Wilbur and Bill Gardner. Norma is survived by: daughters, Garrie Lynne Kancewick (Stan), Kay Christner (Tom), Jean Morgan (George), Lisa Mahaffey (Cliff); son, Mark Agard; grandchildren, Travis Hall (Anna); Michael, James, Thomas, and Sam Kancewick, Blair Miller (Kevin), Bailey Kearney (Cody), Kelsey Howse (Joe), Allen Morgan (Elise) and Aaron Morgan, Stu Runberg, Madeline Nixon (Adam), Jennifer Dudley (Nick), John and Zane Runberg, Ben and Jon Agard; great grandchildren, Tayler, Natalie, Jayden, and Whitney Hall, Chandler Kearney, Guinevere and Minerva Nixon, Emma Howse and Hendrick Morgan. Isidro Alvarez

Isidro’s life began on May 15, 1954 in Camagüey, Cuba; the son of Segundo and Emiliana (Bebert) Alvarez. He was united in marriage to Grace Doreen Martin on February 14, 1980. Isidro worked hard for his family as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from CDH Construction in El Dorado. He was an early riser and enjoyed a morning coffee and cookie. Isidro loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and was a huge fan. He loved to go camping and spend time outdoors, fishing and being with nature. He loved to tend to his goats and horses. Isidro loved to spend time with his grandchildren and sneaking lottery tickets whenever he could. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife, Grace; children Phillip Dill, Wendy (Denzil) Davis, Dori (Chris) Bowlin, Lila Alvarez, Emi Alvarez and Isidro Alvarez, Jr; 16 grandchildren, 1 greatgrandchild and several siblings. Isidro passed away on March 24, 2022 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Tuesday, March 29 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Lois Wilson

Lois Evelyn Wilson, 85, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 in Andover. Viewing and visitation 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Elk City, Kansas. Lois was born in Independence, Kansas on September 25, 1936, to the late Alba (Sweringen) and Richard “Dick” Holloway. She worked as a surgical technician at Wesley Medical Center and later worked as a bus and van aide for USD 402 Augusta. In 1954, she married James L. Wilson in Independence, Kansas, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin and Floyd Holloway; and sister, Doris Sack. Lois is survived by: daughters, Nancy Hopper; and Julie Stuckey and husband Bob all of Augusta; grandchildren, Nancy Gilmour, Richard Hopper (Kateri), Stephanie Maddux (Zac Wempe), Tiffany Stuckey, Melissa Smith and Misti Fleming (Andrew) and great grandchildren, Jade Gilmour, London Holfield, Sarai and Theron Hopper, Brayden Fitzgerald, Titus Wempe, Elizabeth Stuckey, Cahner Smith, Ryder Owens, and Mason and Cameron Fleming. Lola “Joan” Olsen

Lola “Joan” Olsen’s life began on July 14, 1933 in Hutchinson, KS; the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Perkins) Lackey. She was united in marriage to Clarence Olsen on October 20, 1954 in McPherson, KS. She worked hard for her family as a school bus driver for Eureka Schools and also worked as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed sewing and gardening in her spare time. Joan loved her family and enjoyed her babies. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loving family includes her children, Patricia (Tim) Toney of El Dorado and Jerry (Sheila) Olsen of Eureka; grandchildren T.R. (Tammy) Toney, Amber (Kyle) McLaren, Ryan (Sarah) Olsen and Tyler Olsen; and 9 great-grandchildren. Joan passed away on March 20, 2022 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Friends may gather with the family from 12-1pm on Thursday, March 31 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 1pm. Joan will be laid to rest at Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia. Friends and family are invited to the Rosalia Community Building following the burial for a time of fellowship. Arthur “Art” L. Cameron

Arthur “Art” L. Cameron’s life began on September 25, 1942 in El Dorado, KS, the son of Howard and Fay (Bradford) Cameron. He lived in Oil Hill Township until it was closed and his family moved to El Dorado. Art earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Butler County Community College in 1976. He was united in marriage to Marianne Brenner on October 22, 1977 in El Dorado. Art worked hard for his family in the El Dorado Department of Public Safety from 1970-2000. He worked in both law enforcement and fire safety, eventually choosing to continue with law enforcement. Art once said the he chose his profession because he “wanted to help people.” Art retired as an El Dorado Police Captain after 30 years of service. Art enjoyed being with family, woodworking, playing solitaire on the iPad, and sitting on his breezeway or around a table drinking coffee with friends. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife, Marianne of El Dorado; children Tricia Cameron of Kansas City, MO, Andy (Mary Lee) Norris of Baldwin City, and Abby (Manolito) Munoz of Andover. Art was a proud Grandpa and ‘Papa’ to Ian Nelson, Tori Nelson, Desmond (Hannah) Norris, Molly and Macy Munoz and a great-grandpa to Elise Gustavsson-Norris. Art was a loving uncle to Kerri Engstrand and Pandora Adams. Art also leaves behind his dog, Ruby. Art passed away on March 19, 2022 in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lewis and beloved pets, Sam, Belle and Rosie.

Robert E. Grissom

Robert Eugene Grissom was born on January 28, 1961 in Fredonia, Kansas; the son of Jack Alexander and Delores Fay (Scarth) Grissom. He graduated from Yates Center High School. On August 17, 1991, he married Debra Cody in El Dorado, Kansas. He began working on the farm at a young age and carried that work ethic through his entire life. Robert was a hardworking man, most of his life he held two jobs at a time. If he wasn’t working, he was out working in his yard and barbequing for his family. His greatest joy in life was his family, which includes, his wife, Debra “Debbie” of the home; daughter, Ashley Grissom of Wyoming; son, Charles and wife, Brianna Grissom of El Dorado; granddaughter, Aria Grissom; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Pitts of California and Linda Haggin of Utah; brothers in law, Carl, Robert, and Dale Cody; and many nieces and nephews. Robert passed away on March 15, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Cody-Grissom; and four brothers. Friends may gather with family on Friday, March 25 at Carlson Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Carlson Colonial Chapel on Saturday, March 26 at 1 pm; burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. John L. Worrell

John Leslie Worrell was born on October 19, 1944 in El Dorado, KS; the son of George Albert Sr. and Virginia Rose (Boley) Worrell. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wichita State University and began his master’s degree in Engineering. John worked for 42 years at Chance Manufacturing starting as a design engineer and retiring as a production manager. John and Sandra Lynn Lucas were untied in marriage on May 4, 1980, at the LCC. After his long work days, John could be found tending to his cows, serving on the Butler REC board. He was a lifetime member of the Leon Masonic Lodge. He loved attending activities for his children and grandchildren. If the TV was on you could bet it was on Everybody Loves Raymond or an old western. He enjoyed coffee with friends, usually driving them crazy with his repetitive stories. He was a faithful member of the Leon Christian Church and took pride in being an elder. His greatest joy in life was his family, which includes, his wife, Sandra of the home; John’s daughter, Leslie Suzanne Worrell of Maine; John’s son, Brandon John Worrell of Kansas City, MO and Brandon’s children, Owen Arthur and Audrey Ann Worrell; John and Sandra’s son, Levi (Stephanie) Worrell of Douglass Stephanie’s children, Konnor David, Michael Scott and Charlie (Dick Butkus) James Kielhorn, Levi’s daughter, Natalie Anne and their daughter, Avian Michelle Worrell; John and Sandra’s daughter, Jessie Jane Worrell of Council Grove; brothers, David Lee (Nancy) Worrell of Andover and Steven Clark (Susan) Worrell of Wichita; sister-in-law, Kathy (Worrell) Newcom of Leon; and aunt, Helen Boley of Derby; Sandra’s siblings, Mary Joyce (Stan) Cross of Texas, Carla (Steve) McCune of El Dorado, Kathy (Robet) Downs of Derby, and sister-in-law Debbie Lucas of El Dorado. As well many nieces and nephews. John passed away on March 17, 2022 in Wichita, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Virginia; stepmother, Violet (Duncan) Worrell; by his in-laws, Avery and Lois Lucas; brothers, George Albert Worrell, Jr., Dent E. Worrell; and brother in law James (Luke) Lucas. Friends may gather with family at Carlson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22 from 5-7 pm.
