Randy Lee Brooks

Randy Lee Brooks, 77, Leawood, passed away on May 21, 2022. A visitation is from 12:30-1PM before the memorial service to celebrate his life. The service will be at 1pm on Saturday, May 28th at Church of the Resurrection United Methodist Church in the Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224. Theresa “Terry” Fagg

Theresa “Terry” Fagg’s life began on April 11, 1930 in Scipio, Kansas the daughter of Christopher and Lucy (Wassmer) Pickert. Terry graduated high school and was later married to George J. Fagg on August 7, 1948 in Richmond, Kansas. Terry devoted her life to serving the Lord. She was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Evangelist for over 70 years. She loved the church and devoted most of her life working for many ministries within the church and the community including Altar Society, The Legion of Mary, and Little Sister of the Poor. In 1977, Terry was the recipient of the Bene Merenti Medal, a high honor for those that serve within the Catholic Church. She was the primary sacristan for church serving many priests over a span of 40+ years. Terry was the Executive Director for Birthline Inc of El Dorado for more than 20 years. Terry also played an active part with the Kansas Braille Institute in Wichita for over 20 years. She also volunteered for 33 years within the St. Dismas Ministry to the Incarcerated at the El Dorado Prison. Terry was loved dearly there. Terry loved the Lord, her faith, her church and her family. Her loving family includes her children Michael (Debbie) Fagg of El Dorado; Lueata (Jerry) Evenson of El Dorado and Eddie (Pam) Wells of Antioch, Illinois; grandchildren Jennifer (Shane) Stobart, Meghann (Ryan) Ewy, Kellie Fagg, Zachary (Angie) Forsythe, Ashley (Skip) Wayland, Luresa (Anthony) Provanzano, Andrea (Rudy) Keller, Rob Wells and Kyle Wells; 14 great grandchildren. Terry went to be with her Lord on May 24, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter Monica Rose, 7 brothers and sisters and her parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 31. A Vigil Service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday, June 1 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Terry will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, St. Dismas Ministry to the Incarcerated or to El Dorado Birthline. Terry Lee Moore

Terry Lee Moore, carried many titles through his life; loving husband, father, brother, Papa and friend. He made it to the Promise land on May 17th, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Terry’s life began on December 31st, 1962 in El Dorado, Kansas; the son of Dennis and Betty (Martin) Moore. He married Suzette Gordin on June 5th, 1982 in El Dorado, Kansas. Terry worked hard always providing for his family, and he was best known for being a welder. He was always in demand. He also worked hauling hay, aircraft for 15 years and even owning a tire service shop. He did whatever it took to take care of his family and his people. When he wasn’t providing for his family his greatest joy was spending time with them. Whether camping or grilling at home or a bike ride around the lake, Terry brought life and laughter where ever he went. For the last 10 years Terry and Suzette began building their farm and leaving a legacy his girls will continue; including his wife, Suzette, children Sonjia (Chris) Lemons, Terrysa (Weston) Carleton, Sierra (Jordan) Gladfelter; grandchildren Maxton Lemons, Cora Lemons, Maverick Lemons, Huxley Carleton, and Hartley Carleton. He is survived also by siblings Jack (Bert) Moore, John (Holly) Moore, and Crystal (Calen) Gibbs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Betty Moore; sister, Serena Gibbs; brother-in-law, Michael Gibbs; nephew, Sean Gibbs; niece, Caitlynn Gibbs. Ever the servant heart he was an active member and deacon at First Baptist Church; where he kept the faith, never lost hope, and planted seeds of faith everywhere he went.

Neil Legler Benson

Neil Benson, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2022 at the age of 97. Neil was born September 28, 1924 in Gibbon, Nebraska to George Wallace Legler and Sue Todd Legler. After her father passed from tuberculosis, the family moved to Leavenworth where Neil graduated from high school. Neil and her sister, Martha, then attended The St. Mary College in Leavenworth, where they each worked respectively to put the other through school. Neil then went on to the University of Kansas where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and a Phi Beta Kappa. Upon graduating with a degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, she became a lab technician. She met her husband, Page Benson, while Page was stationed at Fort Leavenworth during WWII. Page and Neil were married on June 28th, 1947 in Leavenworth. Shortly thereafter, the newly-weds moved to El Dorado where she resided for the rest of her life.

Danny Lee Kirkpatrick

Danny Lee Kirkpatrick, age 49, was born November 30, 1972 in El Dorado, KS. He passed away unexpectedly at home on May 7, 2022 in Chapman, KS. Dan was the son of Willis and Betty (Kimball) Kirkpatrick. His early years were spent in Whitewater, KS where he had fond memories of small town life. His family moved to Scott City, KS when Dan was a sophomore. This was a difficult move for him, but he made lifelong friends, was part of 3 state championship football teams, and fell in love with his future wife before he graduated from Scott Community High School with the class of 1991. Dan continued his education at Bethany College while also playing basketball and baseball, graduating in 1995. He later obtained his masters in Educational Psychology from Kansas State University in 2007.

Roger A. Heflin

Roger A. Heflin passed away at age 69 on May 12, 2022, in Wellington, KS. Roger was born on August 31, 1952, to Charles and Rosella (Mallonee) Heflin in Pratt, KS. He is survived by; son Roger Jr. (Sandra) Heflin, Tammy Southern and Amanda Mullins. Brother; Ronald Heflin, Sisters; Linda Haworth, Roberta Mayes and Ruth Heflin. Grandchildren; Ashley Schilling, Rebecca Harder, Tyler Southern, Levi Southern, Zachary Heflin, Megan Hollaman, and Brian Mullins. Also having 9 great grandchildren. Roger is preceded in death by; Parents; Charles and Rosella Heflin, siblings; Vina Woodard, Nancy Brown, Doris Williams, Raymond Heflin, and Rosemary Reed.

Charles “Chuck” Raymond Lipscomb

Charles “Chuck” Raymond Lipscomb, 98, formerly of Augusta and Moline, KS, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Eureka, KS. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 and service 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Charles was born in El Dorado, KS on August 20, 1923, to the late Mae Gertrude (Singer) and James Christopher Lipscomb. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Chuck later retired as a plant manager from Mobil Refinery. He had also served on the Augusta City Council. On April 7, 1951 he married Betty Sue (Smith) Lipscomb in Eureka, KS. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Paul, and William Lipscomb; sisters, Erma Bryan and Mildred Munsel. He is survived by: daughter, Connie J. Lipscomb; grandchildren, Michael and David Hasting (Kris), and Julie Johnson (Mike); great grandchildren, Blake, Brandon, Brooke, Brady, Breanna, and Boston Hasting, Christina, David, and Kayla Tate, Emily, Brittany, and Katie Johnson; greatgreat grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Xander Craft, Evelyn Tate, Karsynn, Hayden, and Lillyanna Hasting.
