Claudia Christine Wynn Shipp, born November 4, 1944, to Christine Caldwell Wynn, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, with her family present. Chris grew up with her two brothers Ed and Jim, and sister Marjie, in Cincinnati, Ohio, though she often spent summers with aunts, uncles, and cousins in Kentucky.

Shirley Ann Clark

Shirley Ann Clark, 88, passed peacefully at home in Bella Vista, Arkansas Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 after a 10 year battle with Parkinsons. She was born May 8, 1934 in Ashland, Kansas to Charles R. and Bessie K. Morley. She was the youngest of five children. Shirley married Wayne H. Clark in 1951 in Kansas. They were married 62 years when he preceded her in death in 2013. Shirley and Wayne retired to Arkansas in 1993. Shirley loved art and taught lessons for many years. She was a tal ented artist and will be remembered for her beautiful oil paintings. Shirley is survived by her three children, Craig Clark, Gutherie, OK, Debra (Rodney) Hadix, and Kevin Clark of Bella Vista, AR; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and brother, Charles V. Morley, CA.

Dr. Jess S. Plummer

Age 66, Of Towanda Dr. Jess S. Plummer’s life began on November 8, 1955 in El Dorado, KS; the son of Jesse Plummer Jr and Bonnie (Abraham) Ayers. He had a passion for education earning a degree in Dentistry from UMKC School of Dentistry and an undergraduate degree from University of Kansas. Jess married the love of his life, Dorothy Rhyne, on August 11, 1984 in El Dorado. Jess had a successful dentistry practice in El Dorado for over 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending as much time outdoors as he could. Jess had the greenest thumb and could grow anything. He loved to garden and be in nature. Jess was a proud Eagle Scout and a scout leader for many years. He supported the Governor’s One Shot Turkey Hunt for many years as well. He loved rock music and was a huge sports fan, especially KU. In retirement, Jess loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a passion for cooking, trying to see how many “likes” he could get on Facebook. Jess’ greatest joy in life was his family which includes his wife, Dorothy of Towanda; children Jillian (Jacob) Wallace of Wichita, Steven (Kyra) Plummer of Littleton, CO; Thomas Plummer of Austin, TX and Aaron (Jaci) Plummer of Wichita; grandchildren Dorian Plummer and Kennedy Plummer; sibling Ceresa (Kenton) Brown; mother Bonnie (Wilbur) Ayers of Burns, KS and several nieces and nephews. Jess passed away on June 5, 2022 at his home in Towanda. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Plummer Jr and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8pm on Wednesday, June 8 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 10am at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Augusta, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am. Jess will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Good Shepherd Hospice or to St. James the Greater Catholic School. Beloved wife, mother, Nanny & Gigi - Roberta “Bert” Yvonne (Call) Winter - passed away peacefully at home June 8, 2022. Bert was born on April 30, 1939, in El Dorado, KS to William Oliver and Eulah D. (Loveland) Call. She married her best friend Donald “Don” Winter in Augusta, KS on April 24, 1960. Bert was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church for many years.

Janey M. Browning, 75, of Kechi, KS passed a w a y Thursday, May 26, 2022 at home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16th, 2022 at Green Valley Cemetery, 14500 E 109th St. N., Valley Center, KS 67147. Janey was born in Wynne, AR on February 21, 1947, to the late Edna Ione (Dunlap) and Carl Logan Lemke. She was the office manager at Dr. Varner’s Office in El Dorado, KS for many years. Janey enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren and watching them play sports. On February 6, 1965 she married Edward Leroy Browning in Augusta, KS. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Lemke; twin sister, Judy Moreland and sister, Kyle Lemke. She is survived by: sons, Galen Browning of Kechi, KS, and Mike Browning and wife Nicole of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Kayla Browning, Catterina Riddle (David), Lexi, Carly and Jake Browning; and great grandsons, Abel Housman, David Riddle, and Dawson Waters.
