Billye Lynne Odom

Billye L y n n e Odom was born on April 22, 1941 in Joplin, MO; the daughter of William Taft and Opal Joe (Davidson) Dungan. She was a 1960 graduate from Baxter Springs High School. She then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University and a masters degree in education from Baker University. On June 6, 1964, Billye was united in marriage to James Brian Odom in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Billye was truly a wonderful educator and spent 34 years at several different schools; including Meadowbrook Junior High, Indian Woods Middle School in Overland Park and Atchison High School. She spent most of her career teaching 7th grade life science. Billye loved to travel; whether she was exploring with her children, grandchildren or church friends, she was always going to new places where she might learn something new. She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado. Her greatest joy in life was her family which includes her sons, Doug (Alicia) Odom of El Dorado and Greg (Tabbey) Odom of Carlsbad, New Mexico; grandchildren, Chloe, Jeremiah and Zoey Odom and Brantley Henson and Jaycie Henson (Adam Rubi); and dog, Christy. Billye passed away on June 12, 2022 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 2010; and infant sister, Vicky Dungan. Friends may gather with family on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Carlson Colonial Chapel from 5-7 PM. Graveside services will take place at Baxter Springs Memorial Cemetery in Baxter Springs, Ks at a later date. John Jesus Barrientos

John Jesus Barrientos went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cirila and Daniel Barrientos, his brother Daniel Barrientos Jr, and his late wife, Sandy Barrientos. He is survived by his wife, Sue Barrientos, who he shared 18 years of marriage with. He was a loving father of sons JR (Denise) Barrientos, Mark (Dawn) Barrientos, James (Lisa) Barrientos, all of Wichita, and daughter Denise and Guy (deceased) Rivard of Canada. Step-father to Brody Schmidt of Alva, OK, Ashley (Jay) Krause of Denver, CO, and Jamie (Christopher) Cunningham of Piedmont, OK; brother Danny (Cecilia) Barrientos, Virgina Guillen, and David (Vickie) Barrientos, all of Wichita, and Mary Moreno of Fort Worth TX. John is survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mildred “Denise” Hagan

Age 65 El Dorado, KS Mildred Denise (Haley) (Mallatt) Hagan, entered this life on March 5, 1957 in Choctaw, Ok, and went to be in the presence of the Lord on June 7, 2022 at the age of 65. She was born to Rose Lee Jimenez and Dennis (Dink) Haley.

Shirley Kay Train

Shirley Kay Train, 79, of Augusta, KS, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 in Andover, KS. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022 and service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Shirley was born in Harrison, AR on March 14, 1943, to the late Rhoda (Widener) and Benjamen Franklin McCormick, Jr. She was a florist for many years at several local flower shops. Shirley was also involved in pageants and was the Butler County Pageant Coordinator for many years. She was a loving mom and “Mamaw” to her family. On March 1, 1963 she married Larry Dale Train in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby McCormick. She is survived by: sons, Jeremy Train and wife Cindy of Augusta, KS, and Craig Train and wife Debbie of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Brek Train (Brooke), Heath Train (Samantha), Kylie Train, and Macy Train; great grandchildren, Kace, Kam, Harrison, and Hutton; brother, Ed McCormick and wife Linda of Valley Center, KS. Steven “Steve” R. Poes-chel

Steven “Steve” R. Poeschel’s life began on April 30, 1949 in El Dorado, KS; the son of Raymond and Mary Frances (Harsh) Poeschel. He was united in marriage to Diane Borron on November 30, 1985 in El Dorado. He was a journeyman ironworker and worked hard for his family as a welder for the refinery. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. His family includes his wife, Diane of El Dorado; children Ann (Raymond) Stean of Edinburgh, Scotland and Sam (Gera) Poeschel of Cassoday; sister Lynne Wells of El Dorado and sister Cindy Poeschel of Frisco, TX. Steve passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents.
