Kara Lee Davis

Kara Lee Davis, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on August 27th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Kara was born on January 23rd, 1968 in Carthage, Missouri, to Roland and Treva (Greninger) Davis. Kara was hardly seen without a big smile on her face and there were many things that brought her joy and happiness. She loved to sing and dance to fun music. She especially loved the songs from the musical, Grease! Kara loved to clean, and she loved it so much that she was well known for dumping out unfinished beverages that were sitting around the house. She loved her snacks, Diet Coke and Gardetto’s being her favorite! Kara never met a stranger, she loved everyone and everyone loved her. Her exuberant personality will be sorely missed by her loving family, which includes her siblings, Tracy Larson of El Dorado, KS, Pamela (Matthew) Call of Wichita, KS, Rolanda Ray of El Dorado, KS, Roland (Christine) Davis Jr. of El Dorado, KS, Rachel (Shawn) Taylor of Mississippi, James Davis of El Dorado, KS, and John (Amber) Davis of Towanda, KS; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Kimberly Phillips and Elizabeth Mumma. A Celebration of Life for Kara will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 6th at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Rena Mae Wyer

Rena Mae Wyer, resident of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on August 28th, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Rena was born to Joseph and Allie (Harrison) Scholl in Wichita, Kansas on March 4th, 1931. She was married to John Wyer in November of 1950. He precedes her in death. When Rena wasn’t busy taking care of the home, she dedicated her time to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado where she served as a nurse’s aide for many years. In her free time, she had many hobbies which included quilting, planting flowers and growing tomatoes in her garden, watching soap operas (especially her favorite, General Hospital), cooking delicious meals for her family, and traveling with her husband to do some sight-seeing. Taking care of children brought Rena the most joy. She absolutely loved kids and she was lucky enough to be blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even one great-great-grandchild. Freida K. Jackson

Freida K. Jackson entered eternal rest with the Lord on Aug. 19 while a resident at ANEW Healthcare in Oxford, Kansas. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas on Feb. 2, 1951 and was the second of three children born to James C. and Phyllis (Brewer) Jackson. Freida grew up in the Chelsea community and attended Chelsea Grade School from first through eighth grades and was active in sports and the Chelsea B Square 4-H Club. She graduated from El Dorado High School and attended Butler County
