Age 90, Of El Dorado Gerald; her parents; sister Beverly Phillips and brother, Larry Harris. Friends may gather with the family from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 18 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19 at 10am at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Janice will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado. She graduated El Dorado high school and met the love of her life, Gerald McIntosh while working on the pipeline in payroll/bookkeeper in Vicksburg, Mississippi. They were united in marriage on August 30, 1950. Janice had a passion for her family and keeping her home. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Janice loved her dogs. She enjoyed reading novels, cooking and watching Westerns, especially if John Wayne was in them. Her greatest joy was her family, which includes her children: Randy (Judy) McIntosh of El Dorado, Raylene (Darryl) Wise of Clearwater, KS; and Jerry (Mary) McIntosh of Hope Mills, NC; 4 grandchildren Jennifer (Roger) Knowles, Randall (Sarah) McIntosh Jr., Sonni (Derek) Klufa and Shelby (Kelly) Schauf; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great greatgrandchild; sisters-in-law Beverly Fader and Susan Povondra, Debora Harris and brother-in-law, Verlin McIntosh. Joyce was born on July 2, 1936 to Gordon and Vena Mohler in Leon, Kansas. She married Kenneth Schmidt at the Leon Christian Church on May 25, 1991. Joyce had many jobs throughout her life, some of which included taking care of the home, being a bus driver, helping out at her sister’s grocery store, being a bookkeeper, and operating the Prairie House Café in Leon. Lloyd Greenwell

1955, Lloyd stated working at Skelly Oil Co., later to become Texaco, in El Dorado, KS and retired in 1993 after 38 years of service. While being raised at an early age on a ranch, Lloyd fell in love with the “Country Life” and in 1958, he and his wife purchased a small ranch east of El Dorado; where he basically built their home by completely remodeling an old farmhouse. In 1967, Lloyd and his wife sold their small ranch and purchased a larger ranch, where they raised registered Brangus Cattle and Quarter Horses. Lloyd loved horses and took pride in owning the King Ranch Stallion, “Hired Hand”. Lloyd joined the “Heart of America Brangus Association, and held the positions of Secretary and President. While President of the organization, he was appointed Superintendent at the American Royal in Kansas City. For 18 years, Lloyd was an inspector for Registry of Brangus Cattle. “You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the Country out of the boy.” So, in 2011, Lloyd and his wife, sold their home and purchased an 80 acre ranch southeast of El Dorado and raised horses. In 2017, Lloyd’s health declined and he and his wife sold their ranch and moved back to town. Lloyd and his wife were active in the community and sponsored many local sports teams. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Lloyd was a loving and faithful husband to his wife. To define Lloyd, you could say he was friendly, kind, faithful, and a dedicated worker, who loved God. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theta; a brother, Harold Greenwell; and a sister, Margaret (Greenwell) Luce. He is survived by several nieces and nephews; the staff and residents of Homestead Assisted Living in El Dorado and a host of friends. Private services have taken place and Lloyd was laid to rest at Sunset Lawns in El Dorado. Terry Dean Tennyson

Terry Dean Tennyson, 72, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, with complications from dementia. He was surrounded by music, singing, and the love of his family. Terry was born September 30, 1949 in Wichita Kansas to Phillip and Verla Tennyson. Terry graduated from Plainville High School and attended college at Fort Hays State University as well as Brown Mackie College. Terry was united in marriage to Melanie (Voelzke) on September 3rd, 1971, in Salina, Kansas. Terry and Melanie were blessed by three children; Travis, Tricia, and Tracie. In 1974, Terry began working for Beechcraft in Salina before transferring to the Wichita plant in 1988, at which time the family relocated to Augusta. Terry worked there for 40 years before retiring. Terry loved playing the bass guitar and did so the majority of his life. Terry played in many bands through the years including Justice, Freed, and The Matt Engels Band, just to name a few. Music was Terry’s passion, and his five grandchildren were his pride. If you wanted to see Terry’s eyes light up, talking to him about his family would do just that. Terry is survived by his wife Melanie and their children Travis Tennyson of Augusta, Tricia and husband Eric Brown of Augusta, and Tracie Tennyson and wife Ashlie Krieger of Eau Claire, Michigan. Grandchildren include Easton, Ericson, and Emmett Brown (Tricia), and Vaughn and Vivian Tennyson (Travis). Terry is also survived by his siblings Kathy Brown (Phil Schultz) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Deb Rice (Mike) of Wichita, and Randy Tennyson (Pam) of Augusta, as well as nieces and nephews. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at FlutterBye Ranch between Augusta and Leon on Sunday, September 25th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, come and go.
