The Kansas Rural Water Association recently named the winner of its 2022-2023 scholarship to Erin Johnson of Towanda. The scholarship, named after long-time Association Director Dennis Schwartz is in the amount of $1,000.
Double the 4-H Power! The North Butler 4-H hosted an exchange meeting with the Hickory Helpers who led the 4-H pledge. Harley McLaughlin called the meeting to order with roll call being “My favorite super hero is…” and 21 members answered.
Preliminary estimates reported by the Labor Market Information Services (LMIS) division of the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 2.5% in March. There's a new camp coming to Cross Winds Camp and Conference Center in Hesston, the result of years of work by new residents Ben and Grace Smith. It's called "Camp David," a camp program started in 2003 in the Ozarks that grew from 18 to 200 campers before going international.
