TOPEKA — Kansas is awarding $7 million to 11 transportation projects across the state through the Cost Share Program. The state-run initiative is intended to improve safety, job retention and growth, and improve access and mobility to cities and counties through transportation.
The same day that a shooter opened fire at a school in Uvalde, Texas, I attended my son’s fifthgrade graduation. The same day that 19 students from that school died, along with two teachers, I stood next to my husband and applauded after our camera-shy son took a certificate from his teacher.
The Ellis County Attorney’s decision to not prosecute election bribery signals that the trend of picking and choosing which crimes to prosecute is no longer confined to major U.S. cities with progressive prosecutors. And that is a very dangerous sign for freedom in Kansas.

The Kansas Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that a congressional map drawn by lawmakers is legal under the Kansas Constitution. That creates a landmark decision in the state court that had never previously considered the legality of gerrymandering.
TOPEKA, Kansas — Kansas will be the first state to let foster children pick their foster parents. The goal of the one-of-a-kind change aims to let older foster children create strong connections that could help them as they age out of the state’s care.
