Kansas foster care provider sues former leaders over alleged financial misconduct

Legal action renews interest in Saint Francis Ministries’ performance and funding TOPEKA — The former CEO, chief counsel and IT director for Saint Francis Ministries used their positions to enrich themselves and their friends as the charity neared financial insolvency, according to allegations made in state and federal lawsuits. The Salina-based foster care provider in court documents accused the trinity of overbilling for IT and legal services and misusing company funds to support a lavish lifestyle.

Back to School Haircuts

Times-Gazette Eight-eight haircuts were provided for free to local kids in an event created to help instill confidence in students before heading back to school. Bren Nestelroad, owner of Thairapy Salon in El Dorado, knew she wanted to host the free event when she was approached about having it in conjunction with the USD490 Back to School Bash and Resource Fair.
