TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly announced today that her administration is awarding nearly $2.4 million to 27 Kansas agencies to strengthen law enforcement, prevent crime, and support crime victims. “I commend the men and women of Kansas who uphold our laws and keep our communities safe,” Governor Laura Kelly said.

Monday Study Club of El Dorado celebrated its 95th anniversary at the first monthly meeting of the 2022-23 club year. Member Linda Sanders presented the program of the club’s history which included a summary with yearbooks and pictures. She said that it began as a Mothers’ Study Club in 1927. A number of El Dorado mothers purchased a series of child-rearing books, which offered a supplemental course of study. In 1946-47, the name of the club changed to Monday Study Club, as members wished to ask a woman to join who was not a mother.
The North Butler 4-‐H club met at Emmaus Church on October 10, 2022. New year, new things! First, the installation of officers were announced and we created A Work of Art.
The Rose Hill middle school football team are bringing home some hardware this season as they won the Patriot League, the middle school version of the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League, this season. They did it last season, too.
TOPEKA, Kan. – Kansas Tourism has announced the Tourism Marketing Grant Program ecipients for 2022. The Tourism Marketing Grant is an ongoing grant program designed to assist tourism organizations or businesses with new and innovative advertising and marketing projects. Kansas Tourism Director Bridgette Jobe, along with Tourism staff, spent this week visiting each awardee’s location and congratulating them with a large, ceremonial check.
