November 14, 2022 (MANHATTAN, Kan.) – Alexis Hansen of Belleville, Kansas, a junior in agricultural economics; Garrett Korte of Latham, Kansas, a junior in agribusiness; and Grace Otott of Washington, Kansas, a senior in agricultural economics have each been awarded the Triangle Insurance Scholarship through the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center and the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University.
The Annual Butler County 4-H Achievement Celebration was held on November 5th at the Butler Community College Welcome Center. This event celebrates the accomplishments of 4-H’ers throughout the past year. It is also a time to recognize and thank all the leaders who volunteer many hours to make 4-H’ers successful.
The last couple of years have been tough on the entire nation mentally, financially and physically. With hard news, a medical pandemic, inflation, drought and many other things to worry about, we want to try and lighten the load and remember why we are here. Sometimes slowing down and grounding ourselves is key in sustaining our sanity and happiness.
Beginning Saturday, Nov. 19 through Monday, Nov. 27, the El Dorado Police Department will join many other law enforcement agencies across the state, including the Kansas Highway Patrol, in the Kansas *THANKSGIVING SAFE ARRIVAL traffic enforcement campaign. Although all Kansas Traffic Laws will be enforced, this extra provision will be actively enforcing our occupant protection laws.

A quick review from a non-journalist but avid fan of the theatre. The El Dorado High School kids did an amazing job with, what in my opinion has always been a sub-par musical.
The Prize Patrol from Partners In Education Foundation, Inc. (PIE) made its tour of El Dorado schools Oct 19th to distribute this year’s Fall Awards. Three different types of awards were presented: $9,000 in Grants to Schools, $9,000 in Program Awards, and $4,200 in awards from the Felix Alton Cantrell Jr. Fund.
