Heartstrings for the Holidays

The holiday season is known as a time for giving and one Kansas nonprofit is looking to give the gift of 'furever' homes to at-risk dogs. With a motto of 'Changing numbers to names', Heartstrings Animal Advocates has saved over 736 lives in just the last year. Founded in 2016, 46 Heartstring volunteers act as the foster home between shelter and adoption time. 'We network with a lot of other rescue partners to do transports and to help however we can to get other animals safe.' said Kara Knight, Founder of Heartstrings Animal Advocates.

SBAMH Auxiliary Celebrates 100 Years

Members of Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital (SBAMH) Auxiliary celebrated the auxiliary’s 100-year Birthday on November 17, 2022 at Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Hostesses Audrey Kallenberger, Billie Michaelis, and Toni Owen provided balloons and decorations for the special celebration and served cake after the program.

Bluestem Grad Receives Triangle Insurance Scholarship

November 14, 2022 (MANHATTAN, Kan.) – Alexis Hansen of Belleville, Kansas, a junior in agricultural economics; Garrett Korte of Latham, Kansas, a junior in agribusiness; and Grace Otott of Washington, Kansas, a senior in agricultural economics have each been awarded the Triangle Insurance Scholarship through the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center and the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University.
