Small Business Saturday Sales

Small Business Saturday is a holiday dedicated to encouraging holiday shoppers to spend their dollars at their local businesses instead of at big box retail stores the day after Black Friday. In turn, it creates an impact on the local economy instead of sending money to an unknown place. Adopted as a national holiday in 2011 by President Obama, the recognition has brought small business sales up by 8% by the year 2015, according to Farm Bureau Financial Services.

Why Your Local Reporter is Thankful

This time I'm slowing down and writing about what I'm thankful for. I hardly do this, even though mental health experts say it's good to do to keep yourself grounded... or at least that's what I hear.
