Wreaths Across America 2023

On the annual Wreaths Across America Day, which was held Dec. 17th, the Captain Edgar Dale American Legion Post 81 was able to lay wreaths at the graves of 1,251 veterans thanks to the sponsorships and fundraising efforts of approximately 75 local citizens and businesses, according to Vern Barker, Post Adjutant.

Structure Fire in El Dorado

At approximately 9:08 PM, the El Dorado Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 800 block of SE Pioneer Rd, El Dorado, KS. Upon arrival, units found a 5700-square-foot barn with extensive fire showing. Due to a large amount of fire involvement, defensive (exterior) operations were conducted to extinguish the fire.
